Popular in Chinese restaurants worldwide, this traditionally deep fried dish can be made in the air fryer, crispy and delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 Cup tapioca flour (coarse type, if available)
  • 1/3 Cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 Tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds to garnish
  • 1/2 Cup of candied walnuts. (The only difference is to omit the cinnamon powder)

In a large bowl, mix the shrimps with the beaten egg. Shake off excess egg mixture from the shrimps then dip both sides of the shrimp in the tapioca flour and set them on a baking sheet. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes until the tapioca flour look moist.

Place the shrimps (without stacking) on a lightly greased aluminum foil inside the air fryer basket. Spray the some oil onto shrimp and air fry at 400F (200C) for about 10 minutes, flip once, until the shrimps are cooked through and surface crispy.

Mix mayonnaise, honey, and condensed milk together. When the shrimps are done, toss them with the mixture along with candied walnut. Sprinkle some sesame to serve.
