Experts might tell you that there’s really no way to get rid of acne overnight. I’m here to tell you that they’re wrong.

Doctors and dermatologists know what they’re talking about most of the time, but they’re not always correct. Sometimes they’re so close to a subject that they need to step back and realize there are other methods and natural remedies to get rid of acne quickly that they haven’t explored or have not learned about yet.

Getting rid of acne overnight is not always easy, especially if you’re trying to get rid of multiple breakouts at once, as this can indeed be somewhat impossible. However, if you’re only trying to remove one or two whiteheads overnight, you can successfully get rid of the pustule and get it on the way to healing with a few simple techniques.

The first technique I’d like to introduce you to is the sulfur treatment. When dealing with a cystic pimple or a whitehead, I have found the best way to get rid of the pimple is to put sulfur cream on it for ten minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. I use the sulfur treatment that comes as a free bonus in my Proactiv kit.

This sulfur treatment works not only to dry out the pimple but also to reach deep down into my pores and clean out the gunk. I also notice that after each treatment, the pimple is less inflamed and smaller in size than it was when I started.

The second technique is also an easy one, but must be done a little more carefully. This involves the use of a small dab of toothpaste on the zit before going to bed. You must be particularly careful about this method though, as some people experience slight burning sensations or skin sensitivity to toothpaste. If you notice the toothpaste irritates your skin after a night of sleeping with fluoride toothpaste on a zit, discontinue this method or try a different toothpaste.

Toothpaste is fairly effective in reducing the appearance of a bump or completely drying out a zit overnight. However, it is not meant for a full face of acne and could result in overly dried skin and a flaky complexion, which will cause you to suffer even more acne in the long run.

The number one thing you need to remember when trying to get rid of acne overnight is to not overdo it. You can’t cleanse your face, use a toner, apply a benzoyl peroxide cream treatment, and then put sulfur or toothpaste on your zits. You have to approach this technique methodically, or your skin will overreact.

As a general rule, if you’re going to apply sulfur or toothpaste to a pimple, cleanse your face with facial soap or 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser, and don’t do anything else. Pat your face dry and apply sulfur or toothpaste. If you’re using sulfur, rinse it off in a few minutes; for toothpaste, you can sleep with it on or rinse it off a few hours after the application. But don’t put any other topicals on your skin immediately after these treatmentsHealth Fitness Articles, or you will only irritate your acne.
